After a long, long, LONG hiatus from Newgrounds... I've finally made my (not so) triumphant return.
I look forward to posting on the BBS once again and perhaps even working on some half-way decent Flash. (Maybe?)
I'm still looking forward to seeing the Sketchbook Tour 2009 come out, which I am a part of. I'm starting to get back into the swing of things, and I'm rather happy to be doing so.
Newgrounds just sort of.. drifted away from me and I became pre-occupied with other things. I'm glad to be back, and look forward to talking to everyone once again.
I know that I've been rather inactive, but I do believe that this will give me sort of a boost in drawing content. I'm rather happy.
Now for the literature portal, eh? Then I will truly be active in terms of content submitted. Let's hope they go through with it.
I've made it into the 2009 Sketchbook Tour!
I've talked about it previously, so I don't feel it necessary to tell you all about it again. Just search for "Sketchbook Tour" in the Portal, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
It's a brilliant project- it's basically a large collaboration of Newgrounds artists. I really look forward to drawing something.
And in other news, I will more than likely be at the Philadelphia Wizard Con, so expect to see me there! I'm going to pre-order a ticket. It's practically set in stone at this point, and I really look forward to meeting Luis, Tom, and the rest of the NG crew, as well as maybe some members of Newgrounds.
I just thought I'd update you on a few happenings in terms of my submissions in the near future.
First off, I'm going to begin working on a Pico Day submission. I'm not sure of a title quite yet, but I have a basic plot line. I'll release more info as I make more progress.
Secondly, I'm collaborating with my friend Colby to create a lengthy platformer called "The Adventures of Jack", not scheduled to release for many months. I'm doing the programming and animation, while he's doing the artwork. It's gonna be quite nice when it's released. I'm already finding some music.
Next, I'm working on an Audio Portal song. It's sort of trance-electro, and it makes use of ambient noises, cellos, and perhaps some guitars. It's set to release in a week or two.
And finally, I'm working on the sequel to Make A Madness Character. It's gonna be much nicer than it's predecessor- unlockables, a gallery, nice music, all new weapons and clothing, and it's going to be far less cluttered. This'll probably be the next Flash I release. I'm working on it right now, actually.
But apart from that, I may remove B: Extreme, and I may turn "to the bomm sheltar!" into a package with both 1 and 2 in it. I may not be proud of it, but the first is from Clock Day, and it got into the collection, so I'm going to keep it.
I'm hoping to begin releasing serious, nice-looking animations within the near future. I'm getting my work ethic in check.
I'm working on a song to submit to the Audio Portal. Unfortunately, I was banned quite a while back for submitting a clip of myself singing. It wasn't serious, and I suppose that I had the ban coming to me. Unfortunately, I now want to release some actual music, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to.
I was told that the audio mods would have to get some new tools or something along those lines to unban folks, so I'm not sure if they have.
Also, does anyone know of some decent, free VSTs? I'm looking for some sort of bongos as well as any oriental instruments. Help would be appreciated.
Here's a few updates for you all.
In other news, I managed to get on the panel of voters for the Best of March! I do believe that this is the first time that I've been able to vote. I'm sure many people are selected, but I'm happy to be a part of it nonetheless.
Next on the agenda for me will be participating in the Sketchbook Tour 2009. I enjoyed sending in a submission in '08, and look forward to this year's sketchbook tour.
Basically, Luis sends around sheets of paper to various Newgrounds artists. The artists draw what they like, and then send it back to him. All of those drawings are compiled into a book, and made into a Flash. The book then resides in the Newgrounds office.
And finally, I look forward to attending the Philadelphia Wizard Con. Newgrounds will be there, and I really look forward to meeting Tom and Luis. It's about a 5 and a half hour drive from Pittsburgh, and public transportation is quite expensive. (Around 200 dollars for the whole trip), but I'll find a way to get there.
That's about it for now. There was quite a bit of news to report on this time around.
Thanks for reading.
Today marks my two year anniversary on Newgrounds. Time seems to go by so quickly. It seems as though I was just making a post on my 1 year anniversary here, and welcoming in the '08 folks.
I had spent a fairly long time away from Newgrounds in the past few months, but I'm here to stay now. I'm eager to find what 2009 will bring in terms of Newgrounds. A lot of notable things happened in '08 for me, and I welcome '09 with open arms.
I look forward to spending the rest of 2009 with Newgrounds, and would like to thank everyone at here Newgrounds.
To celebrate, I've baked you all a most delicious over-sized muffin! :D
I hope that Wade doesn't mind that I used his car that he was selling to bake a muffin...
I blame Luis.
*ahem* Dig in!
I just released the sequel to Clock Day's "to the bomm sheltar"
This Flash was made for my friends, although some may enjoy it. Be sure to check it out.
It, of course, is not to be taken seriously.
Obama is our 44th president of the United States, announced just minutes ago!
He is the first African American president, and I have great hopes for him in the future.
McCain's speaking right now in Arizona. He seems like a good guy, but I'm glad Obama managed to grasp the election. (By quite a large margin)
Good luck Obama!
Ah, it's been a while since I've last made a news post.
I haven' t been especially active recently in terms of forums, but I have come on here to deposit. I noticed the new feature to move your panels on your user page. Tom's really been pumping out some new features lately, it's great.
I sort of like my user page the way it is, though, so I'll stick to it.
That's all for now, but be sure to check out this video. These guys are amazingly funny. They really have some balls to be doing that...
